Billy Corgan has returned to the studio with Smashing Pumpkins original members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin.

Billy, James and Jimmy founded the alternative rock band alongside D’arcy Wretzkin 1988 and had a string of hits in the ‘90s, however since 2000, the frontman has been the only original member remaining in the line-up.

In recent years, the “Tonight, Tonight” singer has teased fans with talk of a full reunion and on Tuesday, Billy revealed he had been in the studio with his old bandmates.

The rocker posted a picture of himself, James and Jimmy relaxing next to a mixing desk.

The trio did perform together in 2016, but have not recorded together since 2000, when D’arcy joined them on the album “Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music.”

Billy has also revealed he is back in contact with D’Arcy, the band’s bass guitarist.
